Satan is a gigantic beast who was banished from the holy land is trapped waist-deep in the ice due to his constant flapping of his wings.  He has three faces, each a different colour. Red (in the middle), pale yellow (on the right) and black (on the left), all devouring three traitorous criminals. In this adaptation of Dante’s character, he emerges from his icy prison and begins to engage in battle in order to have his revenge on the one that cast him into the Inferno,  Paradiso.

The armour’s design is heavily inspired by 14th century culture. The inside of the chest plate is an open gateway to its soul. Its rounded arched rose window shape and ‘arc en accolade’ features were taken from famous Gothic architecture.  The outfit’s main asset is enveloped with mangled corpses as a solid reference to Auguste Rodin’s monumental sculptural work ‘The Gates of Hell’, which depicts a scene from Inferno from the first section of the Divine Comedy portraying many bodies trying to escape from Hell. The model is currently under development and is planned to have its other heads and wing attached onto the main body later.
